Maybe some of you remember that Brad and I were senior sweethearts. Brad received an appointment to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and followed his dream of becoming an officer and pilot. We were married in June 1973. We had three children. We were assigned to McChord AFB, WA where he was flying the C-141, cargo transport. His plane went down 11-12-80 in Cairo Egypt. He was a wonderful husband and great father, son and brother. He achieved so much in the 29 years God gave him.

Dear Sherry,

We are grateful for Brad's sacrifice and yours as well.  I have nice memories of you talking to me about Brad during Home Ec Class.  Thank you for letting me share in this tribute.  Marlys

Thank you Marlys. I have good memories of you and lots of church activities. Sorry you didn't recognize me on the phone, I guess the years take their toll in lots of ways. I was hoping more people would remember Brad. He played basketball and baseball and excelled in academics. Hope you are well and enjoying your family and good health.

Sherry.  I do remember Brad, as i'm confident that many other people do also. we only knew each other casually and in passing, but he always seemed like a nice guy and very much a gentleman.

I want to say I knew Brad since Emerson and/or Stanford AND we both loved the Air Force. We talked about the EC stuff and I was flying the F4. I was at Cairo West in July 1980. I remember hearing of Brad's accident and thought about him while at the 50th reunion activities. He is missed and was blessed. I hope we can meet the next time I am in town or at the next reunion. Take care. John

Brad grew up in the house just around the corner from mine.  While we were at Bixby Elementary School together, our parents decided we were going to go to Call's Dance Studio in Long Beach.  In 4th grade and 5th, my mom would take Brad and me to Square Dancing lessons there (I think it was once a month).  We advanced to Ball Room Dancing in 6th grade...and both Brad and I just grinned and bared it - eventhough, thinking back on it now, it really was a great experience.  Brad was a very bright, quiet, and caring person and friend.  While we weren't close friends after elementary school, I remember how shocked and saddened I was when my mom told me of his tragic death...he truly was a hero, and accomplished so much in his "way to short" life.

Sherry,

I am sending my condolences to you; a little late it seems. I do remember you both, and saddened to hear the news. I was not able to attend the 50th, as I would have loved seeing everyone again. I know the pain still is in your heart. It may get a little better but it will always be with you. Hope you have been able to move on; slowly and know he is always with you! Bless you and your children!

Sherry, I was so sorry to hear of Brad's passing so many years ago.  I remember him at Stanford and  playing Basketball and Baseball at Millikan.  I think he was also in ROTC.  He was always so bright and very focused.  I was happy for him when he landed his dream of being  accepted into the Air Force Academy, and that you two had married.   I hope life has been good to you and your family since going through the heartbreak of losing Brad so tragically and when you were both so young. Sending hugs.

Patti Stevens Clark
