John Calvin Onkka was born in Palmer, Alaska on July 3, 1950, some eight years before Alaska became a state! He went to high school in Wyoming before he transferred to Millikan where he played basketball. I wasn’t able to find out too much about John, but he was married possibly twice, and had two daughters while living in Whittier in the mid eighties. He spent time living in Bullhead City, AZ. He died in Medford, Oregon on September 17, 1999, at the age of 49. His ashes were spread in Birch Bay State Park in Washington state.
