From Bruce's Obituary: Bruce Eugene Phillips, age 61 of Butler, Missouri died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at his home in Butler. He was born April 7, 1950 to Clifford Edmond and Pearl Frances Burrage Phillips in Mobile, Alabama. 

Bruce is survived by two brothers, David Phillips and wife Sherry of Tucson, Arizona and Paul Phillips and wife Melissa of Butler, Missouri; two nephews, Pat Phillips and Brian Phillips; and one niece, Kimberly Shearmire. He was preceded in death by his parents.

From his mother's obituary it was learned that his father moved the family to Long Beach, in order to work on the Apollo Space Program.
