Karen died 38 years ago. We were in brownies together at Helen Keller Elementary. She went to a different middle school than I, I went to DeMille, and then I bumped into her at Millikan high. We did not hang with the same group but we were friends. It was at Long Beach State in a Spanish class that we reconnected. She was my first roommate where we rented an apartment in Belmont Shore. She was my first study abroad friend when we went to Mexico City. We attended Iberoamericano. We had such a great time and she was a wonderful roommate. I had the honor of being at her wedding and being very close friends with her. Sadly Karen came down with cancer and then things went downhill. She was beautiful intelligent fun gregarious and a good person. She was a very special lady. I miss her all the time.
